EASY MODE

Easy Imposter Game Words

Fifty-seven easy imposter game words — the pack to open with when half the table has never played, when the group is big, or when ages run from eight to sixty.

Why these words work

An easy word is not a simple word. It's a word with many safe clue angles. Pizza is easy because you can say Delivery, Slice, Friday, Cheese, Box or Round and all six prove you know it without naming it. Moss is hard because there are about two things you can say about moss, and both of them are basically "moss".

That's the test every word below passed: at least five clues a beginner would think of unprompted. It means nobody freezes on their turn, which is the failure mode that kills a first round. New players don't quit because the game is too hard — they quit because they had nothing to say and felt stupid.

The trade-off is that easy words are also easy for the imposter. A vague clue like "tasty" survives half the food pack. Expect the imposter to win more often here, and treat that as the point: a couple of imposter wins early gets everybody bluffing instead of playing it safe.

The 57 words

Each word ships with the vague hint the imposter secretly sees. All of them are live in the game — pick the matching categories at setup, or read the complete 832-word deck to see everything at once.

How to run this pack

Play the first round face up

Deal one practice round where nobody is the imposter and everyone just gives a clue. Thirty seconds, and it removes all the "wait, what am I doing" from the real first round.

Start at five players

Three players with easy words is almost unwinnable for the crew — two clues is not enough signal. Five to eight is where easy words play best.

Ban one-word repeats

Because these words are so open, two players will independently say "Round" for Pizza. House rule: if your clue is already taken, you have to find another. It's the fastest way to level up a beginner group.
