CHAOS MODE
Funny Imposter Game Words
Fifty-six funny imposter game words — chosen not because the words are funny on their own, but because of the clues they force grown adults to say out loud with a straight face.
Why these words work
The laugh in this game never comes from the word. It comes from someone having to prove they know Skunk without saying skunk, landing on "Smelly", and watching the whole table turn and look at them. The word is just the setup.
So the words below were picked on one criterion: is the obvious clue embarrassing to say? Deodorant qualifies. Toilet Paper very much qualifies. Umbrella does not — nothing awkward has ever been said about an umbrella.
Funny words also have a real tactical effect: they make people over-commit. A player who's found a clue that gets a laugh will use it even when it's far too obvious, because the laugh is worth more to them than the round. Good imposters learn to sit quietly and let the comedians hand them the answer.
The 56 words
Each word ships with the vague hint the imposter secretly sees. All of them are live in the game — pick the matching categories at setup, or read the complete 832-word deck to see everything at once.
Animals that look like a mistake 14 words
The best category on this page. Each of these has one absurd defining feature, so the clues arrive as deadpan descriptions — "Slow", "Smelly", "Wrong" — and a one-word insult aimed at an animal is reliably funnier than it should be.

Internet brainrot 12 words
Devastating with a group under thirty, and even better with a mixed-age group — watching one person try to clue Rizz to an audience that includes their aunt is the entire game. Read the room first: these are useless if half the table doesn't recognise them, and a word nobody knows just kills the round.

Cartoon characters 10 words
Characters with a catchphrase or a single dominant trait. The comedy is in the restraint — you know exactly the noise that identifies Scooby-Doo, and you're not allowed to make it.

How to run this pack
Put the funny pack second, not first
Cold groups don't bluff, they answer correctly and quietly. Run one round of easy words to get everyone talking, then switch.
Shorten the timer
Comedy needs pressure. Fifteen or twenty seconds per clue stops people workshopping a bit and forces the first stupid thing that comes to mind — which is the funny one.
Let the laugh count as evidence
House rule worth trying: if a clue gets a real laugh, the crew has to explain why before voting. Half the time the explanation reveals the person laughing hardest has no idea what the word is.
